This is my first solid aluminum pen. JR Retro components. Turned on a wood lathe with a skew!
Polished - not anodized (currently beyond my paygrade!).
C&C Welcome.

Outstanding! Pardon my ignorance of metal work, but...with wood/acrylic, I sand after turning with chisels. Is there an equivalent step with metal? What do you use to remove tool marks, etc. Doesn't feel like sandpaper would do it.

Now *that's* a WOW pen !!!!! .... SUPERB !!!!!

What type/grade of Aluminum, please ?

I turned it with a skew, sanded to 2000, polished with mag/aluminum polish on buffing wheel

Very nice, I've been wanting to make an AL pen. What stock did you start with? Was it a thick walled tube or did you bore a solid piece?

Gary

you done a fantastic job on that Keith seeing as you used a wood lathe too
difficult to get a great polish on Aluminium too, though you seem to have it down well ;)
