I finally turned this blank this afternoon. I called it "Firestorm" because of the colors. They are very deep and seem to "move" in the light, like a fire. Now for the rest of the story. I do not know what type of burl cap this is but it was hard as a brick! Just took my time and embraced the difficulty. It was worth every minute.
I had to use 1/2" gouge because it was so hard. I didn't trust my skewing abilities on this one. 400-600 sand, 3 thin/ 6 med /3 thin coats of CA, 400-600 again. Then wet MM up to 12k, Hut & Ren.
Thanks for looking.
