Wow,what a couple of days here in San Diego... Yesterday, we had a big fire about 1 mile from the pen shop that luckily went west instead of east, then the 9 fires here today.
They were able to save homes yesterday, but not today.
The Santa Ana winds and 98 degrees with almost no humidity were brutal, and from luncht ime til we went home, almost every direction you stood looking around, you could see the smoke from the fires.
Right from the driveway at work, about a mile away we saw the first signs of the big one in San Marcos, and watched it grow by leaps & bounds. If you have never seen a hillside brush fire during a Santa Ana condition,it's just amazing how fast it travels.
With freeway/road closures all around, the feeling of being trapped from reaching you home and loved ones really scares you.
Please keep us here in your prayers.Tomorrow is going to be the hottest day,( 102 forecast ) but luckily the winds are supposed to be over.
God bless our brave fire fighters, these folks are real heroes!
