Teak is loaded with oil. It is also very abrasive to your tools. The last one that I did with a CA finish, I turned it, sanded it, and when it was ready for CA I used acetone to remove the surface oil. Naptha would have worked too.
I actually then applied a little oil to it... Tung Oil. But this oil I mixed and it is loaded with driers and polymerizes very fast. I gave the Tung oil time to polymerize and then did my CA thing knowing that the Teak and its inner oil was sealed by the Tung Oil polymer shell.
I have the pen in front of me now and there is no sign of clouding or other oil effect. It just has a nice, glass-like CA finish.
