Most of the time with resin blanks I just polish them up and be done with it. Several years ago I made my daughter a pen with a blank I think was called dragons blood. It is a resin with thin curls of metal suspended in the resin. She abused it and it lived in her pencil bag she carried to school everyday. Eventually you could feel the metal shards because the resin was wearing faster than the metal. I just picked up some combz blanks with the aluminum honeycomb imbedded. I was thinking I should put some CA on it just as a wear layer. What do other people do with these blanks?
