I'm making a couple of pens w/ Catus Juice stabiliazed blanks; wondering the best way to finish. Can you use WTF, or can you just sand and buff, or is a CA finish required?
Thanks

Ben,

Any of those you mention will work. CA is not required....you can get very close to the same gloss, but not quite with no finish whatsoever if polished correctly. I like to sometimes add some walnut oil, but do so with the 1st micro mesh pad in order to get it to pull into the wood better. Good Luck!

CJ opens a different finishing door if you will Ben. I did a demo a while back at church, finishing skew cut to finish on a buckeye burl blank that had been stabilized. A guy jumped up and said "What about sanding?" Asked him to come up and feel it..."Wow...I've never felt a blank so smooth!" 0000 steel wool, burnishing, Huts and all the usual stuff...try different stuff and see what you think!
