Finish over Prismacolor Marker

What have you guys used.

Anyone eveer try salad bowl finish over it? (for making tops)

I've only tried one pen colored with the Prismacolor markers. I used lacquer (air gun) on it, and it caused the colors to bleed. DCbluesman suggested I spray the lacquer onto a paper towel, then lighly dab it on the item to get a first sealing coat of lacquer on without it bleeding. Haven't yet done another pen so I haven't yet been able to try it.

While I've used Prismacolor on a number of my pens, they've never ended up with a solid color. It's always a dyed granite looking effect. Here's an example:

I think any moisture (water or solvent) is going to smear Prismacolor. With the pens I can make it work for my benefit. If I needed something solid I'd start thinking about pressure dyeing the blank.
