While playing around with true-oil for a pen finish, I discovered that if applied or smoothed with lateral strokes with the lathe off, then the lathe turned on at 500 rpm for a few seconds, the centrifical force takes out any lines and leaves no rings since its applied laterally. Too much finish and it will sling off. Also works with Deft.
Seems too simple to be a new discovery but I haven't seen it mentioned before. I am new at this and so probably re-inventing the wheel.
