Finally turned a good bead!!

After months of trying and several emails (read: pestering the hell out of) with my mentor, I finally turned a good bead! Do I try a sphere next?

This is the standard ornament kit with Purple Heart. Not a stunning piece but I'm excited by the bead.

The wood is about 2 inches long, overall size is about 3 inches.

I think you are being a bit tough on yourself, the turning looks fine to me.
Great profile,
Only suggestion I could make would be to undercut the flange on top of the sphere to the same angle as the lower one, but that is "nit picking" on my part.
