I finally upgraded my little bench top Delta combination belt/disc sander (6 inch disc, can't recall the size belt) with a Grizzly 1014Z 9 inch sander/48 inch belt combination. This is a 3/4 hp machine - not much hp upgrade over the 1/2, but I'm amazed that it still has enough power to do what I want. I don't use it on the stand.......have no idea what I'm going to do with a brand new, unassembled stand.............

The only negative about the sander was the shipper. Grizzly used a shipper out of St. Louis whom I paid extra to load off both the sander and the aforementioned planer off of the truck. They held the machine in St. Louis because they wanted to deliver it between 12 noon and 2 pm only. I was available some days until 11 AM and as early home as 3 PM - but nooooooooo.............too much trouble. They also suggested that I let them drop it off without any signature or inspection - which led me to believe there was damage. Then they put it on the wrong truck and said they could get it to me during those hours, but I would have to unload it myself - even though I had paid the $32.00 extra for the four foot drop. I contacted Grizzly and they finally persuaded the delivery company to ship it. The sander's exterior housing was bashed in - even though the box appeared ok. This meant that the box had been dropped on the topside from a BIG distance. Grizzly was GREAT about sending a new housing, and even though the color is a slightly paler green, it works great. I couldn't be happier with the machine.
