Figured Red Eucalyptus Plate

I'm new to the site and fairly new to turning. Here is a figured Red Eucalyptus plate I turned for my personal use as a tester. It's held up to daily use for almost 6 months now without a scratch. Super dense and strong wood. I'm planning on turning 5 more to complete the set. I really like the bottom design. What do you think??

Ever thought about sanding off the nub/tenon on the bottom that holds it on the lathe? I just mount a 3" sanding pad to my drill press and it takes about 60 seconds to have a clean/level foot.

Very nice. Love the figure in that piece. when I turn bowls or platters I try to turn off the foot. I use cole jaws on my nova chuck if the piece is small enough to turn off the foot. I like your design though.
