This is a handle for a PSI interchangeable crochet hook kit. The blank is a coffee bean & cream from Woodcraft. It's the third of these blanks I've done.

The first two I tried were dismal to complete failures. The beans don't adhere well to the resin matrix and they tend to pop out.

This one turned out pretty good. The key was copious use of CA glue. I started with thin CA covering the surfaces being cut, light passes and sharp tool. I'd stop avery so often and re-coat the cut areas with CA, and go back to turning. When I got close to profile, I switched to sanding.
I finished with a priming coat of thin CA, then 6 coats of medium. Sanded smooth to an 800 grit. Polished and buffed on my Beall rig.

Some blanks need the CA carwash - a full coat and often. When you figure out that this is needed, some very fussy blanks get to be very manageable. Be well!
