Hi peoples,
I'm not the religious type, as many of you may know however, I have a heart and feelings, like everyone else, and while I can feel the sentiment behind this time of the year, I also acknowledge and worry about those that lose their lives or take someone else's due to bad decisions.
We all make them, every so often and only you know how close you have got from not making it, as a result.
What am I talking about...??? I'm talking about "drink driving" and how these yearly celebrations, take unnecessary lives and put so much hurt on so many people.
I find difficult to comprehend why today, we are still getting so many people driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, and think that, its OK.
The Police here in Australia, have tried all sorts of approaches but, without that much success, is the mentality and social behavior that are the main culprits.
I don't have the answers, either however, I know that, you can't convince a drunken person to be considerate of others and him/her self, is up to many of us to do something about it and not allow "them" to get behind the wheel.
Sometimes, is nothing you can do so, I ask to all those people out there that, drink and like to drink a few extra at this time of the year, to consider not using their vehicles or, delineate someone else sober to do the driving, take a cab, go with friends, sleep it over, do whatever is necessary to avoid yourself and anyone around you to seat behind the wheel and drive.
Plan for your extra drinking and know that, regardless of how drunk you will get, you won't have any chance/need to drive a vehicle...!
As we say here is Australia and part of an add that went all over the world, "If you drink and drive, you are a bloody idiot...!
