Feeling Groovy (about aluminum)

After seeing Dieseldoc's everyday carry pen shared on my post about the groove pen kit, I was Inspired to make myself a new carry pen. I wanted it to be a tough duty pen and made it out of aluminum. I used Birch Wood Casey Aluminum black to color it. I sanded to 200 and kept applying the Aluminum black while turning it on the lathe at the lowest possible speed until the color was uniform.

I also applied some Renaissance wax, the pen has a nice feel to me.

Very nice and a great pen! Good idea to add the wax to keep the finish from wearing...if it will wear.
