I have found a lot of info on the web about nearly all aspects of kitless fountain pens other than the ' feeds' - including (of special interest) making a feed.

Any advise, links, etc would be appreciated.

Thanks

I think you are talking about making a feed section Right? not actually the feed.
You are the library man, there are a few in there. Feed section's that is.

Lin.

The section holds the feeds and you will make the section not the feed. Feeds can be made from hard rubber but it is VERY difficult to do. The curve has to be spot on to match the nib and the two will have to match the curve of the section to fit. If it is not exact you will have an inky mess. Modern feeds with the multiple fins take a specialty cutter to make.

I can make sections all day long .... I want to understand the making of the 'feed' and the mechanics behind the flow characteristics (beyond capillary action) e.g. what difference does the hole size make, the slit, etc?

Any body know of a good resource-book...

Or does everybody at the top of custom pen making (e.g. Tighe etc) still use the feed/nib (not section) supplied by Bock etc
