I moved all of my pen blanks to my covered shop porch and that left me with a big bare spot to fill. Her's where my blanks ended up...

THANKS for all the kind words guys! And NO...I didn't use all hand tools to make it:eek: I made the dovetails with a router jig.

I know it's a little too fancy for a shop but that's what I wanted, maybe it will give my visitors some ideas and help me sell them something similar.

By the way, it's made from Red Oak and the red stuff is Padauk. The drawers are Poplar.

I can already see that I'm gonna have trouble filling it up....WAIT...MORE TOOLS...YAYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!:biggrin::biggrin:

I think they are beautiful and certainly not too fancy for a shop. Cabinets like those would make me feel good every time I looked at them. What's wrong with having some class in the place where you'd like to spend all your free time? My Dad took a class at Woodcraft in cabinet making. We put coasters on each of his two practice cabinets and made tool stations from them. I think they are beautiful too, although not nearly the quality or beauty of Rick's. If I could build cabinets like his, I would fill my shop with them. Thanks for posting the photos. Also, I like the finished pen showcase just below the planes.

Argh! I'm never going back in my shop after seeing this! Just kidding .

Workmanship, display...it all looks great Rick! Thanks for sharing!
