Interesting read. Now an author would use a computer with Word.
My wife is into a series by a writer who uses the Amish community as the backdrop. There is one Amish lady who writes similar novels. Since her religious beliefs prevent using electronics, she handwrites them in a notebook and another person transfers the text to a computer for the publisher.

What a cool article! Thanks so much for posting this.

My wife and I have written over 20 novels we've self published. She does some handwriting at the beginning of stories she works on, I'm 100% computer mostly because my handwriting is awful.
