Experimenting...

Just playing with some ideas... started off applying some decals to the pen... looked terrible so sanded it down and started over... then tried some dye... looked bad so sanded it down and started over... then food coloring... bleech... obviously I have no idea how to do this...

So... tried something else figuring I would just end up throwing the pen blanks away, since I was already past the point that I wanted to sand down to... you can see I have oversanded in a couple places...

What do you think I ended up trying to get this red cigar?... and funny thing is, it looks pretty good in person! ... don't know if you can really tell from the pic.

I'd guess that you used a red marker, Marc, if I was a betting man...

Yep... a highlighter... the regular Sharpie was too strong... but the highlighter let some grain show through...

What's wrong with that pen? The color is nice and the fit a finish are terrific. Looks good know matter how you achieved it.
