Experimenting with clips

Have been playing around with DIY clips, and possible ways to attach to a closed end cap. This attempt largely followed the excellent tutorial by smoky73 in the resources pages — with modifications to omit the ring and add a soldered spacer piece and nickel silver pin, which was epoxied into a sleeve mounted into the face of the cap (pic makes it clearer). Seems to be solid enough but unsure about the long term durability of this kind of mounting. Not sure if others have tried anything similar or have any experience. I used brass for the clip, which I know is not ideal but it matched the hardware. Would likely move toward nickel silver if I were to pursue this style in the future with full kitless. This was an Apollo kit made with brown mallee btw.
