executive pen difficult twist

I just completed an Executive Pen from PSI. The mechanism is a little stiff and difficult to twist. With Sierras & Gatsbys, I'm always able to take them apart, file down the inner tube if needed, and apply silicone to the parts that touch when turning. That usually takes care of it. With the Executive kits, the twist mechanism is internal. Any tips would be appreciated.

On the executives, you just pull the finial off and unscrew the transmission. It comes right out from the top.
