ZZ TOP:cool: What was YOUR favorite tune? I still like to chill with "Blue Jean Blues". But, "Legs" and, "Sharp Dressed Man" are cool for me too. I ran across my key chain in a box. All worn out from my street rod days. I would like to get this rechromed and, USE it. I don't think there are any plating places in North Port :frown:

La Grange for me chuck.....

My son loves ZZTop also. Funny how the good stuff doesn't die.

" but now I might be mistaken......."

Your son has good taste. You're not mistaken. We'll be hearing them for a long time. La Grange is another for me too.

Love me some ZZ Top. Sharp Dressed Man is my favorite, but Tush and Tube Snake Boogie rank right up there.

another vote for La Grange...they will be playing at a local casino Sept 23 (venue capacity 2,700). I remember when they sold out an ~10,000 seat venue in a couple of hours in the late '70s or early '80s. They added a 2nd show the following night and sold that one out, too. Oh well, I hope they still enjoy the gigs even if not quite the same crowds.

Used to have one of those key chains. I kept hoping it would make my car turn into the eliminator or cadzilla. Didn't work, but a guy can dream right? I saw some video of them in Chicago on clapton's crossroads. Instant play on Netflix. Good stuff. Also about 22 minutes in, Robert randolph and the family band. Dude plays a slide steel like no one else.

I remember going to see them in concert for there Recycler tour twice. First time my wife was 7 months pregnant, the 2nd show my son was 4 months old... Needless to say the wife had more fun the 2nd time around.

I couldnt narrow down a favorite song from them I have quite a few loaded on my ITouch that plays constantly in the shop.

Cant really pic a favorite I love so many of them and actually Frank Beard (the drummer) lives a block from my house I pass his ranch almost everyday its called the TOP 40

Lots of good comments fellas. I got the key ring when I joined the fan club and bought four vinyl albums. Saw them at Market Square Arena in Indy. What a show. They had this cool red lazer that shown on a black screen at the other end of the arena. It was a shapely figure of a hotty dancing.

You know, I was thinking, they may only WANT to do smaller venues these days. I'm certain they could sell out a stadium. JMO!

LaGrange is based on a true story, about the brothel in LaGrange, TX. DAMHIKT!

I used to work with a guy that had a band in High School and him and Billy Gibbons would have the Battle dances.

It's pretty cool to hear about this kind of stuff. Did they find the guys who stole the Eliminator?

They are all good, and I love the fact that Dusty shows up on "Bones" as a semi regular character.
HUH???? What network carries this series?

Not too sure about ZZ Top. The best band from TX was PanterA.
Probably not a penturners choice of shop music, not the penturners here.

Bones is a Fox network show... However, if you aren't aware of it - Netflix would be a good place to start! The first 5 years of episodes are on streaming :eek: Season 6 (last season) isn't on there yet.

However, word of warning... He's only been on a handful of shows if you are watching just for him. It is a pretty cool role they wrote him into though.

Thanks, maybe I can search those episodes.

I have a keychain just like that, use it every day!

How could I choose just one song? La Grange and Tush are my favorites, but for some reason Cheap Sunglasses keeps playing in my head today! ;-)

Scott.

Cool! Is your plating wearing off too? A friend of ours pointed me to a link where I can buy my own plating kit. I may have to jump on it.

Yeh, you can't pick just one or two songs from so many hits.

Too many good ZZ Top tunes to pick just one. Billy can play some blues!! I like Just got back from Baby's

By the way, it's not Dusty that appears on bones, it's Billy Gibbons.

Scott, that looks like the original chain too. Do you keep these in your pocket? Thanks for showing it.

Yep, original chain! And I do carry them in my pocket every day, although occasionally, when I want to show a little flash I hang the fob out of my pocket.

That was the proper thing to do. Back in my night clubing days I would bring it out when the band played ANY ZZ songs. Now I'm thinking.....BIG DEAL:rolleyes:
