This was in a fire wood pile recently and was given to me to do something with so I put it on a Platinum Jr. Statesman and slopped on 8 coats of Ca for a finish. I also gave the nib a little upgrade with one of Lou's' SF nibs and a vacuum pump.

I wish my firewood looked like that!

Neil, you guys certainly have fancy firewood!!!!
Oh...and that CA finish is NOT just 'slopped on' Looks really nice!!

I've got some old pine laying around in a burn pile. I'll send it your way if you can make it turn out as nice as that.

Beautiful find and pen.

Beautiful pen. I'd better not catch any of my friends burning burls in their fireplaces or somebody's gonna get a whoopin'!

The way you just slopped a finish on a piece of firewood, I think you should be embarassed to keep that around. Why don't you save yourself the embarassment and send it to me.

Thank you all for the nice comments. I have learned to check every log I throw in the fire place at home, in the past I have found some beautiful curly spalted Locust that was great looking.
