Has anyone engraved the metal band between the clip and the finial on a Jr pen?

A jeweler would likely be able to engrave it. I just wondered how the finish would handle it. Is it a thin finish that could flake off around the cuts.

You might be able to laser it. If you engrave to deep you will hit the brass substrate.
