I am not sure where this questions goes so here it is.

How much do you guys pay to have something engraved or etched on a pen for a client? I am in Ohio and am looking for someone to possibly engrave/etch about 50 pens for a client and don't know anyone myself. If you have any recommendations please let me know.

The one place in town in fargo nd does laser etching for $10 a pen. I think that is very steep, so I have been shopping for my own laser etcher. With 50 to do, you might be better off buying one and then doing it yourself. I have an etcher, but I am still referbing it, it was free but it doesn't work yet. I guess i got what I paid for.

Jon, what kind of material are you using? Etching is for metal. I have a trophy shop here just a mile from home. They started at $10.00 per line up to 25 characters. As I started taking more pens to them, he knocked it down to $7.00 I have to take the finished to the BEFORE assembling the pens. Mine were wood with CA finish and, chrome hardware. So, I got a tube of silver Rub-n-Buff from Michaels craft store to, fill in the engraved lettering. I had a 50 pen order as well. I recommend you allow plenty of time if you choose to take them to a trophy shop as, mine had a delay due to sports leagues ordering trophies.

If you are making pens with metal like, cartridge pens, I think Eric (sylvanite) can help with etching MAYBE. I hope this helps. Good luck!

I also get my enraving done by Stan. He charges $10 for two lines of text and two logos. He gives a discount if more than 10 orders I think.

Here is his link.

Oh, and happy to be beaten by you in the competition. We checked out your web page. Very nice and professional. And my wife loves your paintings!
