Maybe not so much an other thing I "made" as opposed to an other thing I "embellished," but in my current state of not having a penmaking workshop, I've been working on my engraving. I thought it would be fun to try a Zippo lighter, so I ordered one off Amazon and designed some scroll motifs to engrave on each side, and came up with a more respective scroll border for the edges.

Nice work, John. You may be too young to remember but at one time, someone pulling out a nicely engraved Zippo was not only a treat, but more common than today.
I did not know many people that owned zippos when I was younger, however I always loved looking at the zippo display in my hometown drug store / soda fountain when I was a kid. I somehow convinced my grandma to buy me one once

I never stop kicking myself for not going to the Zippo Family Store and Museum in Bradford, PA when I had the chance. I used to travel on business to Bradford a few times a year in the 1990's. In 1987 Vishay bought the electronics division of Corning Glass Works in Bradford, a manufacturer of glass rods, precision military and film resistors. - Dave

Would you want to do a gun reciever for me? I have a collection of great depression era rifles and 1 is a model 12 that i have an engraved peerless grade barrel for and would love a reciever to go with it, or 1 of my model 34s or 33s, or 24s, or model 8 even. Id obviously pay you.

I appreciate the thought , but I am nowhere near the skill level with tool control or design to cut into a gun
