On a serious note, isn't there another part in that kit that is not shown?
Black plastic piece if I recall??? (at office, kits at home, you know the drill!)

Actually, I didn't know there was a spare part until I read the instructions.
This is a perfect example of why one should never read the directions until after everything is assembled!!
