This is an Editor pen in gunmetal, from Exotic Blanks. The wood is African padauk, and the finish is Pens Plus. I used to be highly allergic to padauk, but apparently not anymore. This is one of eight pens I'll be making for the customer service girls at work. I'm very happy with it.

I engraved this with my NEJE laser engraver. The engraving turned out a little dark. As it turns out, I had it set on 80% and 20mS, which is what I use for acrylic. But at least you can read it easily.

Padauk is one of my (many) favorite woods. About 25 years ago or so I purchased a padauk brief case while on a business trip to Taiwan. I used it for many years and the finding have long since stopped working but the Padauk is a beautiful as the day I bought it.

It is a very beautiful wood. I'm glad I can turn it again.

Pen looks good! Did you engrave this before or after coating? I've burned my pens at 100% and at 30ms with no issues. I burn before coating.
