Two firsts for me: My brother has been pestering for a sturdy pencil, and I ordered some Ebonite a few months ago and have never turned it.
So, A Stratus 2mm pencil with a brownish ripple Ebonite. The blank turned like a charm, and after a few PM questions/suggestions with Dalecamino (Chuck) on finishing, I like the result.
Thanks Chuck!!! (Newbies - find a Mentor, like Chuck to smack your head when you need it!).
I wet sanded from 240-600; then wet sanded through 12,000 micromesh, then applied McGuires Plasticx Polish. I have to say that the finish is one of my better - very few scratches under magnification (I credit the material rather than my skill).
