How many users here use Ebay to sell thier pens? I have tried and tried to move them but people just dont search for hand made pens on ebay. Yesterday i posted some fishing reels and just one day later i have 58 views and several watchers with one bid. Out of the four pens i have had on there for three days i have a total of 10 views and one watcher with no bids. This has been my expeirence with Ebay. Has anybody had any sucess at all? How much better is Etsy? Any hints or ideas would be helpfull.
Thanks
Kevin

i haven't put any on ebay but have purposely watched many pens to see how they do but they never sold. i have sold one on kijiji (don't know if they are south of the border) but have sold one and gotten attention on another one. i think people want a more one on one experience when buying something like our pens. something like kijiji or craigs list allows people to communicate more.

Marc, how would you rate it against etsy.com?
I have no idea how etsy rates in Canada.

EDIT: I just looked up kijiji and it doesn't seem all that big in the US yet.

I list on both Etsy and Ebay. Usually only sell a couple a month though, so it's not great, but keeps the pens moving and my hobby partially funded.

I don't sell pens on Ebay, but do sell pen blanks. do reasonably well. Listed some on Etsy a few years back and for all I know they may still be listed on there. Of course I sell mostly locally grown woods not readily available elsewhere and have an excellent feedback rating. I find the better the rating gets the more my sales increase.

I've sold a number of pens on eBay. Try to use anything unique you possibly can, I've been able to sell pens in the $40-$50 range. I usually wait til eBay gives me some free listings and use them on pens. I sell one every now and then.

If feebay disappeared where would all of the people who sell items for 2 dollars and ship for 15 dollars go to scam?

Thanks for the input. Ebay has'nt been a complete loss, i have sold three pens but over the past several months posted mabey 20. I guess selling to family and friends is the way to go for me. I've sold a few just carring my pens to work and having people sign thier invoices with them then sometimes they will order one. Thanks again
