What's going on with the Raptor Resource nest? I can't seem to figure out what's going on in the photo. Surely that's not a dead Eagle in there, is it????

After living in Iowa almost my whole life, just this year I have seen Bald Eagles soaring around above the town my business is in. I have seen this three times now and once one was sitting very high in a tree...what is the deal? Why are Eagles all of a sudden being more visible in every day life? Have they made a signifigant come back?

They are certainly a very majestic animal, and justly deserving of being our national symbol. Not to mention these things are huge!

Just to bump this up, Dee and I have been following this and that wasn't a dead baby but food that daddy eagle brought. Just a while ago he brought a fish, looked like a trout and for a few minutes we were watching a third baby trying to break the shell and emerge. I you have kids this is a great experience for them.

Mike. they are very majestic creatures, but they don't taste nearly as good as California Condors, (which taste a lot like chicken):biggrin: We get a lot of Bald Eagles just north of us at Reelfoot lake.
