I need some help. I want to cut out some special designs thru my blanks and then fill these with dyed epoxy like the tutorial on the spider pens in the library, but I want to have vibrant colored dyed wood blanks. I have searched and read about using the trans-tint and Mixol dyes and putting these on after the turning is complete, and that sounds simple enough, BUT will it also color the epoxy? If my epoxy is dyed white will the Mixol or Transtint in say a bright or dark blue change the epoxy? If not then I need to dye the wood before adding the epoxy, and then I would need to make sure the dye penetrated so as not to lose the coloring when I turn. How can this be easily done by someone of modest means and little time.[?][?]
