Dyed Wood

I dyed a piece of white oak this morning. Sanded to 800 grit, applied EEE, let it dry for about 30 before starting my finishing process. I've been using GluBoost - I put a coat of the blue on as usual then followed up with the accelerator but noticed it wasn't drying. I waited about a minute and it was still tacky. I sprayed another shot of accelerator and it was still tacky. Any ideas what I might have done wrong. I'm not super experienced - about 55 pens so far.

I believe EEE is a friction polish with wax/solvents/shellac in it. The wax and solvents may not play well with the CA. Dye, sand then wait a day or more before finishing and skip the EEE going directly to the CA and see if you get better results. You can test with some wood turned between the spindle centres that came with the lathe. You don't waste any components that way and can perfect the finishing process.
