I finished up this Duchess ladies pen today.It is made from a piece of curly Maple that I dyed pink.
I wish it had more curl in it,but it I think it still looks pretty.I like that you can still see the grain,so you know it's still wood.
I used a Sharpie "Brush",under the ca.This is the only color of Sharpie Brushes that the ca leaves alone.The other colors I have tried instantly turn a blackish purple color.I was thinking of trying another color with a coat of Mod Podge over it,like the stamp pens to see if that will keep the intended color.I tried spraying it with Krylon Fixtive but no luck.
I change out the tranny with the smooth actioned one,then I like these kits.This one has the dual chrome/gold plating,which is my favorite.
