People here make bowls, goblets, etc. Do you actually use them or are they for decoration?

Yes and Yes.

My sister in law uses a large salad bowl I gave her about 6 years ago everyday to make a salad for her family dinner. Still looks great.

I have a bazillion bowls / vases / goblets / whatever around the house that serve as decoration. They still look great once you wipe the dust off them....which isn't very often.....they still look good (but not great) with a layer of dust on them.....

I make a ton of bowls and sell most of them + give some away. Most of them are being used weekly. I had one customer bring one back for warranty as it cracked. She was putting it in the dishwasher :eek:
All of my bowls have a note that goes with them how to care for them, no dishwasher mentioned on that.
Yes I did go good for it.

I use the bowls around the house for fruit and nuts...my favorite was a "No Foot" bowl I made years ago...it just wobbles. We always keep nuts in that one. The glasses I make are glass bowl wine glasses and those go out for gifts.

I made my father and my husband little bowls to go on their dressers to empty their pockets into at night. They hold wallets, keys, change, pocket knives, etc. A couple are in a display cabinet, the rest have been given away. I bought glass liners for little wooden vases so you can put water in them for flowers. Lee Valley has stainless steel inserts for vases.
