I got caught up with pen stuff so I thought I'd make a few calls. This is a regular size Duck Call with the first issued Federal Duck Stamp. It is an actual stamp. These get pretty pricey and I'm not going to spend the money and risk loosing a nice expensive stamp so I used this one. I collect these so this is one I bought several years ago because I didn't have one and the price was reasonable. Now that I have a nicer one for my collection I thought I'd use it for a call. Thanks for looking and questions and comments welcome.

Kenny,
I've been acquiring duck stamps for awhile now with the intent on using them on pen blanks. I like your idea of the duck call. It looks really nice. I do have a question. Have you had any feedback from duck hunters if these duck calls work?

Seven the calls I've given out people loved the looks and didn't say much about the sound. As far as such calls go it takes talent to use one and make it sound the way it's supposed to. I buy all the reeds because buying the templates and building them is a whole new game in itself. That's something I'm not interested in as of now. You mentioned making pen blanks with them. I've done that as well. Everyone that's seen those lived them. They didn't comment on the sound or the way they wrote. Ha Ha The only thing about using them for pens is the size. The only kits I've used were the Over and Under Bullet pen and the Jr Gent or Triton. I purchased some feather blanks from John Underhill and they made some sweet pens.
