This is an Afzelia Burl Duck Call I just finished. I purchased a collet chuck with a 5/8 expanding mandrel and it was amazing how much easier it was to turn and finish. First I turned everything almost to size then I turned the end to fit the brass band. Then I swapped ends so I could shape and sand the mouth piece of the call. I put 3 coats of C.A. on for a finish then polished with a plastic polish. The short leather lanyard with the curls off a Mallard Drake are to help show off the call.
