Hello all,
I thought that I'd send a picture of my modified Drummond lathe for my first post.
I've just about got it ready to use now after finding it in a barn.
The machine was built in October 1914 and has seen some use. A lot of these little lathes were used by the Navy and saw service on the battleships of the first war. This one survives hopefully to serve as my pen maker.

A couple more pics if people are interested.
I had to remake a lot of parts including turning a new headstock from tool steel.

I used my old Atlas for the work. This is made up from two older ones and is nearl as old as the Drummond.

I had to remove the leadscrew to enable me to reposition the tool post quickly, this of course rotates enabling easy height adjustment.
The pulley arrangement is from an Atlas and re-sleeved. Toolposts, rests and handles al made, rather crudely, by me with an old stick welder.

Hopefully I'll be able to make improvements as I learn.

Spinning my first blank, cheers Tony.
