Hey, I'm looking for a drive center to help with rough turning my blanks. I'm currently using my 4jaw chuck to rough turn the blanks but I dont like how I have to rechuck and turn the blank around. I would rather be able to put the blank between centers and do it all at once.

Any recommendations for a pour grad student on a budget?

I'd suggest a multi-tooth drive centre. You can find them at any woodworking store. You don't need much drive for pen blanks, and these don't need to be pounded into the end of the blank to give you good bite.

I like the Sorby Steb Centres. I'm reading Grant's mind here!
