Some of you may recall a couple years ago we had a group of penturners discussing making pen blanks out of recovered drill worms (the curly ribbons you see when you drill into a blank). I made some blanks at that time, and they did not look very good, so the idea faded away. Until this week. I have been working on Bespoke pens, and I generate a good amount of large drill worms - I was looking in my scrap bin under my lathe and saw all these colorful drill worms and decided to give the recycled worms blanks another go.

It was a bit of a mess, but I managed to press some worms into PVC tubes and fill with some alumilite. I used clear slow, with a slight blue dye in one blank and slight green dye in the other. I think the blanks look pretty cool, and I am going to try making a pen or two out of them once they have completely cured.

There are only 2 blanks. I took 2 photos of the two. The blanks are about 8" and 12" long.
