I just feel like I need to say this...

Thanks... really, thanks ...

I posted here, and got your recommendations, and man, this tool really does what you said it does...

It sure is nice to have sharp drill bits again... without buying new ones!

Marc,

Which version did you get? I need to quit throwing away dull/chipped bits.

Cheers,

Kevin

I second that, I would have never bought one if it were not recommended here.

I got the one at Lowes... had some gift cards so I didn't have to pay... or wait!

The XPK ... I don't have any bits over 1/2", so didn't need the 750...

Glad to hear it works well for you Marc as I've had varying reports about the effectiveness of the Drill Doctor. Perhaps they've ironed out the problems since I last contemplated buying one.

It took a little getting used to, especially the cam motion, but really, just a couple of tries and I figured out the motion and from there on it was really easy to use.

i got one for christmas as well, ended up with the 750. unfortunately all my stuff is in storage now, so i haven't been able to try it yet! can't wait though. glad to hear yours is purring along.

got myself the 750 for xmas. good thing they include a video! wish i had gotten it a long time ago. really good investment!

My Ryobi grinder came with a rest with a weird groove in it that the manual states is for sharpening bits. We have the good doctor at work, which we use a lot for our bits, but I was wondering if anyone had actually used one of these angly-rest things for sharpening bits? Do they work, or should I stick with the drill doctor?

Also, anyone ever tried sharpening brad-point bits? What's involved there? [:)]
