I picked up a a 2nd lathe at a garage sale... a Wilton lathe that accepts MT1. Anyone have a MT1 drill chuck that they'd like to sell? I might be interested in other items that are MT1, too, as I only have a mandrel for this lathe.

If you can't find something in the secondary market, before deciding to purchase a new MT1 Jacobs chuck, you might want to consider this option:

If you have an MT2 Jacobs chuck, check to see how the chuck itself is attached to the arbor. In many instances, the chuck attaches via a J33 taper, and in that case, it would be less expensive to buy a J33-MT-1 arbor so that you can use your existing Jacobs chuck on your newish lathe. Grizzley sells replacement arbors for a lot less than the price of a new Jacobs chuck.

Most of the larger pen parts retailors have them for sale on their sites, they cost around $25.00 with the J33-MT-1 arbor included in the price. The only large company that I can think of right off hand is PSI, maybe because that's where I bought mine.

I have the Rockler Excelsior lathe that I picked up for $100 a couple months ago. I just located the generic version of it for $90. I think it's probably smarter to pick this up for $90 and sell the Wilton MT1 lathe instead of investing any more into it.

I picked one up on Ebay for $19.50. Same seller has more of them listed with the same buy it now price. Seller is allindustrialtoolsupply.

Here is a link hopefully it works to take you right to the chucks Link
