Ruby pen turning
Member
A few have said that some of my pens are to busy. Even though I personally think that the more to look at the better, I do understand that some may like a more subdued looking pen, so I made this closed end desk pen. it is a double closed end chrome roller ball pen done in Honduran rosewood burl with six, what I call windows. They are small diameter tubing consisting of aluminum and copper, filled with colored mica/glitter. there is also a turquoise colored dot on the top of the cap and the tail end of the pen.The pen is turned close to the final size then the windows are filled with mica/glitter powder and Super Glue is applied and sanded then finally polished to a tough durable shine.
I have made for this pen a stand also out of Rosewood with 2 brass connecting rods holding the ends together.
Note: the grooves where the pen will sit needs to have black felt applied still.
Comments bad or good welcome.
