Those D****d companies who give you an 800 number for "service and support" and you can never, under any circumstances get connected to another human being.

I just wen't through it again...do you want english .. press one.
do you want Trac Fone ... press one. 5 options press the right one... 3 options press the right one... "due to a large volume of calls we can't answer your call right now...please try again later." 10 times over the last three days.

Beyond that I sent them an email 72 hours ago which they promised to respond to within 48 hours. No response.

It's bad enough that you can't talk to anyone...but they usually don't have an option for the item you want to talk about....

Almost enough to make abody wish computers had never been invented.

That is where I manage to get rid of many of my frustrations by inventing new words. What is real fun is when, not often, mind you, but when a real person does answer while I am in one of my tiraids. Usually the person on the other end allows me to grab a breath before informing me they are on line. Occasionally repeatedly pressing 0 will get a live person, not always, but on occasion. As always, Smitty, YMMV

Finally

Finally today I managed to talk to a human after only about 2 - 3 minutes waiting on the phone and in about 5 minutes we got everything taken care of and it's OK. BUT ---- it was a different 800 number than they have on their web site for customer service. It was their "email response" customer service number. Of course, they are only manned 8am to 5pm EST Monday thru Friday. What great service for a phone company......

Sometimes I sing a song. The computer voice will say "that is not a valid selection" After a couple minutes of this I get a live person on the phone.

I had my wife's credit card company call with a robot. It said "Is this Deb XXX? Press 1." Then "If Deb XXX is there, press 1." When I pressed 2, it said they would call back later and this is just a "courtesy call".

In my opinion, if you call me with a robot, IT'S NOT COURTESY!

Smitty.....was it an India accent by chance? I love talking to those folks in tech. support from India! After finally getting through the accent barrier, they give you a "reference number" and 4hrs later a guy in Kansas gives you a call to fix the problem....WOOHOO! Way to go with the out-sourcing!

Glad you finally got your phone call through to a human!

Nah, this one wasn't Indian - the time (Mon - Fri 8am - 5pm US Eastern Standard Time) doesn't work for India. This one is home grown but with a slight accent - maybe New England. I think their call center might be in PA because that's where the mailing address is. The person on the phone was fine and walked right through what it took to do what I had to do. It was getting to talk to a human being that was tough.
