Just got home from scrounging a little wood from one of my neighbors.. he had a huge willow tree down in his fron yard.. all that was left was about a 6' length of the trunk.. about 3' diameter.. I offered to cut it up and haul away for him and he accepted.. should have taken a picture before I started cutting. I worked on it some Saturday, but was having trouble cutting all the way through with my 14" chain saw... went on Monday and got a 18" guide bard and whent back today to get the rest..
It's still a little wet, the neighbor said it's been dead about a year, and the bottome is hollow from carpenter ants.. also beginning to get a little spalting.. there's some nice pinkish color in some of the pieces.. hope that holds as it drys.
