Does this look like horn?

I saw these faux horn blanks on sale in our local woodcraft. They were cheap so I thought that I would give one a try. Wasn't expecting much but it turned out better than I expected. What do you think does it look like a horn?

Honestly? No. It looks like that wood grained plastic stuff that was popular back in the 1960's.

I think woodcraft has had them since the 60s, that's why I'm hey are on sale.

Does it look like horn, no sorry. Way too much stripes in it, if it had less than half, then it would be much closer IMO to horn.

Very nice pen, color is right for longhorn but like Akula said, to many stripes.

Many people confuse horn with antler...not the same material. That blank looks more like horn than antler. Not even close to antler. I know we say "deer horn" but deer have antlers, not horn.

I like Ken's idea...call it faux horn.

White balance is off, looks like ocean blue color spectrum that florescent lights emit .

No it doesn't look like any antler I have worked with .
But I haven't seen any plastics that look like antler or horn IMO .
