My wife has promised our daughter that we would take her to Disneyland for her birthday, so I get to search out some accommodations and tickets.

Does anyone one know of any good discounts available for early Feb? Any recommendations?

Anyone in the area that would like a visit IF I get some free time?

I would look at Disney World in Orlando Florida and compare the 2 before I started looking. Alot to do at both but I think more Disney Parks in FLorida. I may be wrong though.

Bruce - my family is are huge Disney nuts.

Three sites to check out: mousesavers.com (discount info) allears.net (good info site) and disboards.com (forum similar to IAP).. But you may VERY well get overloaded. I will say that we are much bigger fans of disney world than land (I hated the 3 weeks I had to spend in LA).

If you have specific questions or can't find the discount stuff on mousesavers, feel free to drop me a PM. Like I said - we are much more into the FL side (both because my brother is stationed in Florida and because there is SO much more Disney there than in California).

You are not wrong... California has 3 Disney hotels and 2 small parks (Disney Land and California adventure). Florida has 33 hotels and 4 parks with a lot more to do.

If the primary purpose is Disney, then there is NO question Florida is the better choice. If anyone has questions about Disney Florida - I'd put my knowledge up to just about anyone. I can give a TON of tips and information.

Both options are valid. My family has visited all of the Disney parks worldwide and have made a number of trips to both FL and CA. For discounts, follow the links recommended above and also check out disney's planning website. Sign up for a planning DVD and sometimes they will email you a discount PIN.

Bruce, when I lived in Las Vegas I worked for disney. I got in all the theme parks free and major discounts on food, etc. It STILL was expensive! Alot of fun, but the food itself was costly. Do as many searches as possible for discounts!

I live about 45 to 50 minutes from Disney Land. Doesn't compare to the Disney World in FL, but the beaches here draw the families out. I don't have any tips about Disney Land accomodations, since we just go from home.
We are at Laguna Beach this weekend and the weather is great. Feel free to drop me a PM if you have any questions about Disney Land. We've had season passes and have gone more times than I can remember. California Adventure is undergoing a major buildout, but the lazer light show at night is fabulous.
