Discount ???

Do we have, or have we contacted any of our better vendors to see about using the buying power of our group to get discounts,ie: WoodCraft gives 10% off to local wod turning groups. I tried to lok at the library but could not find anything. I know some of the vendors toss in some extras, Jimmy at WWP always takes some time to add a bit, but what about vendors like Alumilite or some of the others.

We have the member numbers, maybe we could push a little and not always have to use a group buy.

Alumilite has done things for us in the past and has donated at events. Mike is also a member here and an easy guy to talk with. There is nothing stopping you from contacting vendors and asking the question. Good luck

Sounds like an agenda item for the Merchandising Manager... An authorized single point of contact, as opposed to random, multiple calls, always works better.

I'm not sure if it's there yet, but we were working on getting the Klingspor group discount going again. There have been times when CSUSA has given us a group discount, but I don't think that was an ongoing thing. There have been other single-instance discounts, such as the one we had worked out on the Glaser Mini-G tools a few months back. I think most of the vendors that work regularly with IAP members have given lots of discounts over the years. The next time you order something, ask if they have a group discount for IAP members! If they don't, maybe they'll think about it!

The Vendor Liaison will be the person to work this issue. That's the next one I'll post after the Merchandising Manager position closes today... The latter position is for IAP branded merchandise we produce and sell.
