Direction to engrave

This may be a matter of preference but I am going to ask anyway.

When you Lazer engrave a pen is it customary to engrave it so the engraving reads from the nib end towards the finial or the other way around?

I usually go from nib to finial.

Engrave so user can read. For a lefty it's finial to nib.
Safest is to ask the recipient which they prefer.

I did mine on the back barrel and end cap to coupler.
