different wax for buffing

Just wanted to check and see what you all suggest here. I have used the caranuba wax on my buffing wheel, but want to try some ren wax. Can I just start using it or what do I need to do to the wheel?

I apply the Ren wax directly to the pen tube with a small piece of paper towel. I let it sit for about 30 seconds to a minute then use the wax wheel to buff it out.

I don't think any of the residual carnuba will hurt anything. Try it and see what happens.
