I sold off my 1236 Jet and replaced it with the new Delta. I really like the slower speed on the high range, and the reverse is real nice also. Here is a picture of the first two pen off the new lathe. Both of the pens are Buckeye Burl with turquoise inlay and a ca finish sanded to 12k. I know the rules so here is a picture. I know this is 2 new lathes in a week .Russell

The pens look good, but you simply will not be happy with that Delta lathe! I'll come get it and save you from all that misery. After all, what are friends for?

Yep, you picked a good lathe. I purchased one several months ago. I also have a Nova 1644. I haven't touched the Nova since I purchased the Delta. I'm thinking of selling the Nova and looking for a metal lathe.
